Aren't you afraid people will pirate these stories?

No. We don't assume our customers are thieves. We have more than ten years of experiance with posting unencrypted stories on the internet. We started back in 1995! We've been posting free, unencrypted e-books on the internet since 2000. See some examples, and read about the outcome of that at http://www.baen.com/library/ .

Will the magazine be downloadable for my palm/rocket ebook/other device?

Yes. Downloads are available in the following formats:

• Mobipocket (palm/blackberry/symbion,etc.) (.prc)
• RTF
• PDF
• Microsoft Reader (.lit)
• Rocket E-Book (.reb)
• HTML (as a .zip file)
• and possibly others, we are considering Wolfe ebook, open e-book, etc.

How do I reach you?

• Membership and subscription questions: members@baensuniverse.com
• Submissions: All submissions to Jim Baen's Universe are electronic. There are two primary submission methods, web submission and Baen's UniverseSlush on Baen's bar.
  Web submissions can be made through our submissions form. If there is a problem with the form, please submit by e-mail to submissions@baensuniverse.com and explain the problem, and we will handle the submission manually.

When can we start getting our membership benefits?

Right away. Contact members@baensuniverse.com and tell us what you want. E-arc, webscription, and tuckerization questions all run through members@...

Can I get my webscriptions account and my Universe account combined?

No, sorry. Webscriptions is run by webwrights, Universe is operated on different servers.

You're giving away free ebooks along with the subscriptions?

Is there a forum / chat room / IRC etc for Universe?

Yes. There are five conferences on Baen's Bar dedicated to Universe. Please join us there: http://bar.baen.com.

What's this Universe Club thing?

The Universe Club is a special offer to early subscribers to the magazine. Universe Club membership is available at four levels:

• Titan - With special treats and privileges
• Saturn - More treats and more privileges
• Polaris - e-Arcs, Optional autographed hard copy and special author access
• Andromeda - Extensive treats, webscriptions, e-arcs, amazing Tuckerization rights, and author access.

Each level provides a subscription plus additional benefits and products including mugs, hard copy, autographs, dinners, webscriptions, and more. See the description of the various levels here.
